When I was in middle school, I was extremely interested in learning how to sew, but was told that I would be too impatient. That was probably true, and I moved on with life, but continued to love fashion and expressing myself through clothing. For me, fashion is both a creative and fun process, and one of the only things that gets me out of the door in the morning. Finding a style that represents you, or a piece of clothing that fits like a glove is such an amazing feeling, and my love and passion for shopping in particular pushed me to want to sew again, especially as most of my clothes needed altering in some way or another to be the perfect piece.
This past summer I started to learn how to sew and have been so fulfilled by the process of creating and designing clothing that I wear all the time. I am extremely interested in furthering my education by continuing to self-teach, as well as find opportunities for formal teaching.
I'm extremely excited to see where this hobby takes me as it's something I've loved learning and has changed the way I go about my day in seeing inspiration all around me and how I think about clothing.

For this dress, I took the back from a design from a Transformations by Tracy tutorial (YouTube and Instagram), and then used a circle skirt for the bottom. The general design was based off of already existing Christmas dresses on the market. The key features I wanted for this dress were: red velvet, white fuzzy lining, and the vibes of the iconic Mean Girls Jingle Bell Rock scene. I'm extremely proud of how it turned out :)
