In this Maxwell course, we examined the four largest issues facing the United States: democracy, education, inequality and immigration. Below are four essays detailing my response to these crises and the different arguments presented in class. This class taught me how to view different perspectives and the context shaping the major issues in politics currently.
In the order presented on page
What sort of K-12 education are we (as democratic citizens) obligated to provide to students?
What should a citizen know about the issues of inequality in America?
Should immigration policies in the U.S. prioritize humanitarian, cultural, economic, or security concerns? How might prioritizing this value lead to a reform of immigration policy?
